The Creature

I am a feminist

And a masculinist

A duelist

And a Non-duelist

A libertarian

A Socialist

And an old-fashioned Liberal

Who doesn’t hate Conservatives

I’m a lefty when I play hockey

But I write with my right hand

And I’m sometimes right about what I write

But most of it comes out wrong

I’m Confused and Articulate

Arrogant and kind

Pointed but nebulous

Individually—Undivided

I think, therefore I am—

Separate from you

But connected also

By thought—which is weird

But Lately,

When I think I know something

Without a doubt

I start to have doubts (probably because I’m getting old)

And my intellect gets held hostage

By the creature that thinks it’s me

And I’m blind to the fact

that I—am not he (for the most part)

For I am a feminist

And a masculinist

A duelist

And a Non-duelist

A libertarian

A Socialist

And an old-fashioned Liberal

Who doesn’t hate Conservatives

And I am also spirit

And a creature

A Lover

And a hater

Till death do me and my creature part
